Divorce is not something anyone wants to go through and almost no one ever plans on it happening to him or her. However, with nearly half of all marriages ending in divorce it is a common occurrence. There are many issues to be settled when a couple in Morris County chooses to split up. Typically one of the most heated issues is the split of marital assets.
New reports are surfacing regarding the divorce proceedings of movie director Michael Moore and his estranged wife Kathleen Glynn. According to reports, the director of “Fahrenheit 9/11” has plans to include two of his agents in the courtroom proceedings. Mr. Moore is battling over the distribution of his assets between he and his soon-to-be ex-wife. Reportedly, Mr. Moore is worth tens of millions of dollars.
The director is apparently planning to have his agents testify that his estranged wife of close to 25 years wasted many millions of dollars on a mansion. According to court papers, the agents will also be able to testify regarding Mr. Moore’s earnings. Meantime, the couple’s separation appears to be getting more contested all the time as reports have surfaced that Mr. Moore is asking for very specific lists of all of his wife’s assets as they battle over distribution.
As this case shows, when a couple decides to divorce the process can turn ugly. This can be especially true when there are high assets involved in the separation process. However, regardless of whether or not you have a lot of assets, if you are going through divorce then you should probably seek the help of an experienced divorce attorney.
